Birthday-ness
I'm 26 today. I'm having one of those zen type moments where I'm pretty indifferent to the whole deal. On one hand, I'm thrilled to be alive! :) On the other, big 30 is just lurking around the corner. lol. I'm going to stick with the positive note. :)
So what do I have planned for this day of celebration? Work, school, and more school ~ just like valentine's day this year, hooray! ;) Tomorrow night my mom is taking DH and I out to eat. I have no idea where or if I'll find something to actually consume. Dad took me out to eat last weekend, but, being vegan, all I could have was some falafel and hummus. I think I was the cheapest date out of everyone there, lol.

Hey, as someone who has stared 30 in the face and laughed, I promise, it's not as awful as you imagine it will be. (I imagined the worst lol) And while life is far from perfect, it DOES keep getting better and better! The key? Enjoy where you are, don't stress over how close to X age you are, or what you should have done by X age - life is just way to short to do any less =)

i have to agree with dani... 30 brings a few more aches & my first wrinkles marched across my face this year... i also found that i am braver & crazier (good crazy) now that i am 30. you have nothing to fear with 30!

I remember reallly digging 26... it was one of my really fun years (not the last, don't worry, just one of the best). I could take or leave the big three-oh, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be (by a long shot) but I don't always get carded now, and that stings a little. ;)
So Dance, and Laugh, and Love while you still have the knees and the teeth and the "drive" for it, ifyaknowhaddimean.

Thanks for all the birthday love, everyone! I just got home from school. I think I passed my Math (notice I used the word passed, not aced.. I may have made an A, but ya just never know until you get your paper back). I skipped out of my last class a little early because I was done with the assignments.
Anyhow, I'm back home from a pretty blah day and it's so nice to see all these sweet, happy birthday wishes on my blog. I wish I could send little party favor/treat bags to all of you, lol.
I'm glad to hear that 30 isn't so bad. I guess I just don't want to hit those landmark type birthdays. I believe that life will just get better and better. I'm just in no rush for it to end. (not meaning that it ends at 30!!)
Gonna knit my way through some movie hubby wants to watch. :)

Don't fear the big 3-0, it is nothing but numbers!!! Instead enjoy the day that is a celebration of all the wonderfulness that is you!!! And if you are real good stretch it into a birthday week celebration!

I was clicking the "next blog" image and found your's. I felt like I was reading my own! :) I too will turn 26 this year, enjoy knitting, and appreciate vegans, since I am a former vegetarian. I also lived in Louisiana at one time...Alexandria.
